Beavers
and Cubs from across the County gathered to help
raise money for the Sport Relief charity appeal
today. Over
fifty
youngsters participated in the Great Big Easter Egg Pull
at the campsite.
Colonies and Packs had to wear their Sport
Relief Socks to show their support for the
appeal which raised £19m for charities in the UK
and abroad following Friday night's telethon.
County
Commissioner, Neil Leatherland and Assistant
County Commissioner, John Metcalfe helped the
teams pull the giant egg which was filled with
chocolate eggs.
The
good weather ensured plenty of fun which followed
with a campfire, cooking marshmallows and eating cream
eggs.
Celebrities
Former England footballer Alan Shearer and
television presenter Adrian Chiles cycled 335
miles from Newcastle to London.
Rower James Cracknell travelled from the UK to
Africa "under his own steam" - completing the
journey by swimming from Gibraltar to Morocco.
